We believe sustainable change can occur when clients take positive action on a daily basis. Each morning at Release starts with daily intention setting. This time allows our clients to verbalize their goals for the day to the rest of the community. From here our clients move into their daily schedules. Initially, clients are focused solely on their recovery with their schedules incorporating intensive outpatient programs, recovery meetings, exercise, and volunteer work. As clients begin to gain positive momentum, we work with them to ensure they are either continuing their education or re-entering the work force. Community activities are integrated into our weekly schedules and we close our days with an evening reflection group attended by all clients.
Release provides fresh meals for our clients and healthy snacks are available all day. We encourage community building during meals and require our clients to have dinner together each night. On Friday night, we take our clients out to one of the local restaurants which helps accelerate their integration back into real world, everyday living.
Transportation is provided to clients within 30 minutes of Release. clients are responsible for communicating their transportation needs at least 24 hours in advance.
Release is surrounded by more than 20 colleges in the Westchester area. Our clients are encouraged to begin or continue their education during their time at Release. We guide our clients in their application process, and work with them to curate a class schedule that allows for their recovery to remain the number one priority.
We believe in the power of work as it provides our clients with an opportunity to practice accountability and creates a platform where self-esteem is built. Whether our clients are easing their way into the work force with a part time job or need support securing a full time position, we are dedicated to supporting each client’s career development goals. We offer resume building, mock interviews and job search support. We work with our clients to ensure a job will enhance their sobriety, not replace it. Release is dedicated to our clients’ recovery staying front and center. In instances where clients move into Release and are already employed, we will work with them to ensure a timely return to their job while maintaining a sharp focus on their recovery.
Being of service to others is an essential part of our philosophy, which is why we take pride in our required Community Give Back Program. We work with local organizations that provide volunteer opportunities for our clients.
Community building is an essential element of Release. We require our clients to participate in all group programming as a vehicle for them to learn from each other and support one another. From writing workshops to our private yoga classes and community basketball team, we provide daily opportunities for our clients to come together as a community.
Release does not provide clinical treatment. We work closely with treatment centers to ensure new clients’ discharge plans are fully integrated into their Release recovery plan. We require our clients to see a clinical professional at a minimum of once a week and engage in therapy. We work closely with each of our client’s clinicians while providing tailored case management and individualized support from our staff. We work collaboratively with the intensive outpatient groups our clients attend.
