At our Westchester Counseling Center, we’re focused on identifying the root causes of behaviors – without blame, shame, or labels that fail to acknowledge the ability to change.

Our Services

Individual Therapy

Utilizing an integrative approach tailored to the needs of each client, our clinical team works collaboratively with you to address the recovery issues most important to you. In individual therapy, clients have a safe and supportive space to explore their thoughts, emotions, and challenges. We provide a compassionate and holistic approach to help our clients develop self-compassion, enhance their resilience, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships.

Group Therapy

Group therapy brings together a small, supportive group of individuals who share similar struggles with substance use and mental health. Led by a masters level therapist, group therapy offers the opportunity for personal growth, self-reflection, and the development of interpersonal skills – as well as provides a sense of community and connection with others facing similar challenges.

Family Therapy

At Release Recovery, we treat the whole family system. From developing unique family care plans to offering family coaches, family involvement is crucial to our process and for our clients. And importantly, we support families in doing their own work because recovery is not just about helping your loved ones heal; it’s about helping the whole family heal.

Experiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is an innovative therapeutic approach using hands-on, interactive experiences that complement traditional psychodynamic therapy. It involves participation in activities such as role-playing, art, music, and outdoor exercise to facilitate emotional expression, self-reflection, and increased self-awareness. By engaging in experiential therapy, individuals can develop healthy coping mechanisms, enhance interpersonal skills, address deep-rooted issues and trauma, and tap into their innate resilience and resources to facilitate lasting positive change and well-being.

Therapeutic Aftercare

Both our client and their family are able to engage in our comprehensive aftercare services. We have a substantial alumni support network with events, weekly family support groups, monthly educational groups, as well as options for peer companionship, recovery coaching, and continued case management. We believe that the connections built during therapy are essential to living a sober, happy, and fulfilling life.

Medication Management with Physician Oversight

Medication oversight by our chief medical officer involves the careful evaluation, prescription, and monitoring of medications for our clients. Dr. McCormick assesses the client’s medical history, prescribes appropriate medications, and regularly monitors for their effectiveness and potential side effects. He educates clients about medication usage, provides dosage instructions, and addresses any concerns or questions. Through ongoing oversight, Dr. McCormick ensures safe and effective medication use to optimize client health outcomes.
